FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTiONS

We've Got Answers For Your Common Foot & Ankle Concerns!

Ignoring the problem won’t make it go away— your solution starts with the right answer to your specific problem. Whether you have a pesky surface condition or a sports-related injury that is causing you discomfort— foot and ankle issues are very normal and simple solutions are waiting for you. Together, we'll get your feet happy and healthy.

  • While athletes foot and fungal nail infections can be stubborn foes, there are definitely effective solutions available to cure these common conditions over time with consistent treatment.

Prescription-strength topical medications applied twice daily yield outstanding results for moderate to severe cases over 4-6 weeks. These penetrate deeper providing a strong localized dose.

  • Not always. These common conditions can be treated with nonsurgical options like pads, orthotics, and cortisone shots to provide relief. If conservative care fails, less invasive procedures may be tried before resorting to surgery.

  • When it comes to stubborn warts, we offer effective treatment options to help you get rid of them for good.

For less-resistant single warts, we freeze them off with liquid nitrogen, which is very effective. For larger/multiple warts or ones that don't respond to freezing, we can prescribe prescription wart removal treatments that uncover the skin and attack the virus directly.

Sometimes a series of freezing or treatments is needed if they keep recurring.

  • I offer shaving down built up skin or applying protective pads to relieve pressure and allow natural shedding. Soaking feet first softens for a quick, painless process.

  • First off, don't be embarrassed. Foot odor is very common and easily treated.

It is typically caused by excessive sweating or a bacterial imbalance easily treated. I can culture your feet to identify the specific issue and recommend targeted anti-fungal sprays, powders, or prescription solutions for fast relief.

ATHLETES & RUNNERS:

  • Absolutely. I've worked with athletes from beginners to pros. Whether it's a sprain, stress fracture or repetitive strain issue, my customized plans help safely get you back in the game.

  • Not necessarily. I’ll work with you to modify - not cease - activity, if possible. It's important to gradually rebuild, but there are often training workarounds we can try initially instead of full rest. We'll get creative!

  • Common issues I often treat include plantar fasciitis, shin splints, Achilles tendinitis and knee problems from poor biomechanics. My rehab focuses on addressing underlying factors through specific stretches and strengthening.

  • Supportive footwear appropriate for your activities makes a big difference. I also recommend items like arch supports, padding, and taping in some cases. Consult with me for personalized gear selections tailored to your foot type and sport.

  • The key is finding shoes that address your individual biomechanics and complaints. I'd be happy to do a gait analysis to pinpoint needs, then we can test drive potential pairs. Don't forget about proper fit too - shoes shouldn't cause blisters or rubbing.

At your appointment, we can assess your arches, stride, activities and goals. My goal is getting you injury-free in footwear that fits your unique situation. Small tweaks make a big difference long-term for active feet and lifestyles.

BILLING:

  • An annual deductible is the dollar amount you must pay out of pocket during the year for medical expenses before your insurance coverage begins to pay. For example, if the policy has a $500 deductible, you must pay the first $500 of medical expenses before the insurance company begins to pay for any services.

  • Most plan years begin January 1st, check with your insurance plan.

  • Any time you receive medical care, you are expected to pay in full for your services until your deductible is met.

  • Call your insurance company at any time to check how much of your deductible has been met; some insurance companies have this information available online. Every time you receive medical services, you will receive notification from your insurance company with how much they paid or did not pay.

  • Under HIPAA, we are under strict rules and guidelines in terms of protecting patient privacy and the credit card is considered protected health information. Because of HIPAA rules, our medical office is far more secure than most retail establishments as it relates to identity theft.
